Inside TGB Union in 2026: Traffic, PLO5 and a Surprisingly Loose Player Pool
Updated: Oct 16

TGB Union has been on our radar for a while, particularly because of its PLO and PLO5 action and its strong Australian player base. But lobby screenshots and advertised schedules only tell part of the story.
So instead of checking TGB once and drawing conclusions from a single moment, we spent October 1 monitoring the Union at different times of the day and actually sitting in the games through Red Kangaroo Poker Club.
The result was more interesting than we expected. We documented PLO5 as high as A$10/A$20, later found NLH 3/6 alongside PLO5 2/4, 3/6 and 5/10, saw multiple full tables, and encountered a player pool with some extremely loose recreational profiles.
What makes this particularly relevant is the timing. TGB has strong Australian roots, yet some of the strongest action we documented came outside the natural Australian evening peak. This is not an estimate of TGB's average traffic. It is a field report based on what we actually saw and played.

🌏 TGB Traffic Changes Significantly by Time
The first thing our test made clear is that TGB should not be judged from a single lobby snapshot. Our first detailed check came at approximately 12:22 GMT on October 1, 2026.
At that time we found NLH A$0.25/A$0.50 at 7/7; NLH A$0.50/A$1 at 6/7 and 4/7; PLO4 A$0.50/A$1 at 6/6; PLO4 A$1/A$2 at 4/6; and PLO5 A$10/A$20 running. All stakes were displayed in Australian dollars (AUD).

There was active NLH and PLO traffic, two observed tables were full, and TGB was clearly not limited to small-stakes action. We directly found A$10/A$20 PLO5 running. This snapshot was useful, but it clearly did not represent TGB's maximum traffic.
🔥 PLO5 Is the Main Attraction
If one game stood out during our test, it was five-card Pot-Limit Omaha. At approximately 12:32 GMT, we opened and documented an active A$10/A$20 PLO5 table.

A$10/A$20 PLO5 running on TGB Union at 12:32 GMT on October 1, 2026. The table was five-handed when we captured the screenshot.
High-stakes PLO5 is not something every poker ecosystem can sustain, particularly outside its most obvious peak period. During our sessions we also repeatedly encountered very loose PLO and PLO5 profiles, with individual VPIP readings around 60–80%. These are observed individual profiles, not a network average.
For an Omaha player, that is more useful than simply knowing how many tables appear in the lobby. See our guide to the best sites and apps for PLO, PLO5 and PLO6.
🌙 What We Found Later in the Day
We checked TGB again at approximately 21:00 GMT+1. Because TGB has strong Australian roots, the timing matters: it was already overnight or early morning across Australia, not the natural Australian evening peak.
Yet the lobby showed NLH 3/6, PLO5 2/4, PLO5 3/6 and PLO5 5/10. Two PLO5 2/4 tables were completely full at 6/6.

TGB Union at approximately 21:00 GMT+1 on October 1, 2026: NLH 3/6 plus multiple PLO5 tables from 2/4 to 5/10.
Looking at TGB across multiple hours showed that the available stakes and number of active games could change substantially during the same day. We also saw an international mix of flags including Australia, Israel and the United States.
♠️ Sitting Down at NLH 3/6
Lobby traffic is useful, but the more important test is what happens when we actually sit down. So we joined one of the NLH 3/6 games.

After roughly 30 hands, two players appeared to be regulars: one noticeably aggressive and another considerably tighter. Around them, several recreational players were actively entering pots and players were moving in and out of the game. This did not look like a six-handed table composed entirely of grinders.
🎯 What the Player Pool Actually Looked Like
At the moment we captured the table information, the current table VPIP was 33.87%.

That does not prove a game is automatically soft, but it reinforced what we were seeing at the table. Earlier, one NLH sample showed 40.54% VPIP and 27.02% PFR over 42 hands, while other individual NLH profiles we encountered moved into roughly the 40–70% VPIP range.

Again, these are observed individual profiles, not network averages. During our actual testing, loose recreational profiles appeared repeatedly in both NLH and Omaha, with the most extreme VPIP figures appearing in PLO and PLO5.
🏆 Tournament Traffic Was Active Too
During our October 1 check, the Thursday Thrill PKO A$15K GTD was still in late registration. It showed an A$100 buy-in, 169 entries and a A$15,210 prize pool, meaning it had already exceeded its A$15,000 guarantee before registration closed.

This is more useful than simply quoting an advertised guarantee: we could see players actually entering the event and pushing the prize pool beyond it. A Thursday Turbo A$1.5K GTD with a A$30 buy-in was also visible.
📅 Red Kangaroo's Weekly Tournament Schedule
Red Kangaroo's promotional schedule is led by a A$50,000 GTD Sunday Main Event with a A$200 buy-in, alongside an A$8K Friday Rebuy, A$8K Saturday Big Bounty, A$4K Sunday Warm-Up, A$6K Sunday Second Chance Rebuy and A$2K Sunday Saver PKO.

The promotion advertises more than A$150,000 in weekly guarantees. We treat that as the club's advertised schedule; what we independently verified was the Thursday Thrill already exceeding its A$15K guarantee.

🔎 What Our Test Actually Tells Us
After checking TGB at different hours and playing ourselves, several things became clearer. TGB is heavily time-dependent; PLO5 is one of the strongest reasons to pay attention; the ecosystem was not exclusively Australian; recreational players were clearly present; and there was measurable tournament participation.
None of those observations proves what TGB will look like every day or at every hour. Together, however, they give a considerably more useful picture than simply labelling the Union as either “big” or “small”.
💭 Final Thoughts
The most important thing we learned is that TGB Union cannot be evaluated properly from one point in time. A single lobby check would have missed a large part of the story.
Across October 1 we documented full cash tables, NLH 3/6, PLO5 2/4, 3/6 and 5/10, and a live A$10/A$20 PLO5 game. Some of that action appeared nowhere near the natural Australian evening peak.
We encountered regulars, but repeatedly shared tables with recreational players too. That combination — time-dependent liquidity, meaningful PLO5 stakes and visible recreational participation — is what makes TGB worth monitoring in 2026. It does not mean every table will be good or every stake always available; it means one quiet-looking snapshot can give a misleading picture of what is actually running.
